Awarded annually, California Women for Agriculture's Salinas Valley Chapter (Salinas CWA) offers two scholarship programs to support our mission of promoting local agriculture and to
support interest in agriculture. The scholarships are
The Women Pursuing Degrees in Agriculture Scholarship, and The Farm Workers Scholarship.
The Women Pursuing Degrees in Agriculture Scholarship is intended for female students interested in embarking on a career in an ag-related field. The Farm Workers Scholarship is available to women who have at least one parent or guardian employed as a farm worker .
Both scholarships go to women pursuing a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree from a junior college, a master’s or doctorate degree, or a degree from an accredited trade school. Recipients are required to have a 3.0 grade point average and must be residents of or attended high school in Monterey, Santa Cruz, or San Benito counties. There is no age restriction on either scholarship, nor is either based upon financial need.
