Progressive Dinner - One of our biggest fundraisers each spring is the annual Progressive Dinner, where busses take members and their supporters to a variety of locations throughout the Salinas Valley. Combined with a silent auction, sponsorships and ticket sales, proceeds from this event help fund our scholarship program. Tickets for this year's event are sold out! Shopping Trip to San Francisco - The second Saturday in November has become an important date for hundreds of Salinas Valley Women, as they travel to San Francisco for a fun day or shopping, sightseeing and other activities. The day begins with breakfast, mimosas, and an exciting trip to the City filled with raffles for cash and other prizes. Then after a free day in San Francisco, we return to Salinas with a snack and a movie on the bus. Installation Dinner - Each December, we thank our officers and other active members from the previous year, and salute our incoming slate of officers. It's also a fun time to take a break from the busy holiday season and spend time with other members and friends. Our veggie ID wheel is a big hit at the local Farm Day activities, as well as at other events where we can spread the word to area kids. Also, we supply breakfast at the local county fairs on the day of the livestock auctions. It’s our way of supporting the efforts of the young people that enter their local fairs and competitions. |
